Moles! They’re Damaging My Lawn! What Can I Do?

YUCK!!! MOLES!!!

Chances are you haven’t actually seen them, but you sure as heck have been seeing the damage the moles have been doing to your yard, as well as tripping over all the tunnels they’ve been making. So what can be done about these pests?!

What are they?

Moles are subterranean mammals, spending almost their entire lives underground in elaborate tunnel systems they create to hunt, live, and store food.

Diet:

Their diet consists mainly of earthworms, but also includes other invertebrates like snails, slugs, and insects. A mole may eat 60 to 100% of its body weight in food daily.

Appearance:

They are small, dark-furred mammals, often associated with the mounds of soil ("molehills") left on the surface after they dig their tunnels.

Damage:

Mole lawn damage includes unsightly molehills, surface ridges, and a vast/intricate system of tunnels they create while hunting for worms, which disrupt the lawn's surface and can kill grass by damaging the root system. Moles actually continue their activity and damage throughout the winter, so if you suspect an infestation, perhaps it’s time to call Key2Green to get this problem under control.

Control:

The good news is that Key2Green has experience in effectively eliminating this problem quickly, often times only requiring a single treatment.
